Fans of the European casino scene may already know that the historical water city of Venice, Italy, boasts a small number of exquisite casinos. But how many gamblers are familiar with that city’s scenic neighbour, the sandy lagoon resort of “the Lido” with its Vegas-inspired casino?
The Lido is an 11 km riviera area where the trendy set can be found enjoyinh the pleasures of this lagoon island. Here you’ll also find the Lido Casino or Ca’ Noghera, a homage to the glitz of American casinos.
Surely one massive advantage of blowing away your casino cobwebs at this modern palace of gambling is you don’t have to join the throngs in the city centre. Handily, this spot is a stone’s throw from Marco Polo airport too, just imagine the hordes of tourists you’ll miss!
Roulette lovers will be gratified to find themselves spoilt for choice with French roulette and Fair roulette on offer at the gaming tables.
Fair Roulette is a speedier variant on French roulette where each player has different coloured gambling chips to denote player’s bets and wins. This gives you a more up tempo game which will certainly appeal to some.
To give you a break from the roulette wheel you’ll be able to try your hand at blackjack, Punto Blanco, Chemin de Fer and Baccarat.
For those with a penchant for poker, there’s Ultimate Texas Hold’em and Caribbean Stud Poker too with a dedicated poker room.
Unlike some other casinos, this is a place where there’s green baize aplenty with a good selection of different games to keep you entertained. Unlike American casinos, the table games here open at 3.30 so you can lunch before you start your play- how civilised! And gaming doesn’t stop until a late 3.30am. During the summer these hours change a touch, but not significantly.
If you’re lusting after a moment of distracted downtime, then you’ll be able to hang up your chips and take in the entertainment area.
You might find yourself the audience to a theatrical moment, or contrastingly a pop up fashion show. You can also indulge in live music in this dedicated spot, before returning to the real drama at the table games.
If you can’t quite resist the slot machines, you’ll be thrilled to learn that there are more than a gob-smacking 600 slots for your gaming pleasure. Note that these little babies are open from 11am to 3am or slightly later during national holidays.
Once you’ve worked up an appetite for more than playing on the table games you can try the trio of eateries on offer. Naturally, there’s a great place to grab a pizza at La Pizzeria. If you’re looking for more upmarket dishes in a more fancy setting you can try out local specialities at Ristoart. When you’re appetite runs to trying out great wines and other lighter delicacies then make a bee line for the La Prosciutteria.
As with many casinos you’ll need some ID to gamble at Ca’ Noghera Casino, and there’s a fee to game here too but it’s a fairly modest 10 Euros, not too prohibitive.
All in all, Ca’ Noghera offers high quality casino games in swish modern surroundings and a change from the casinos in the historical city centre. For gamblers who like a wide selection of games in a professional and swanky casino, this is a location to add to that European wish list.
In 1999, Ca’ Noghera was established next to the Marco Polo airport. It was the first American-style casino in Italy.
Easy to reach by car through the main routes of North-Eastern Italy, it is a modern building of over 600 sqm with a slot fleet of 550 machines and the most innovative gaming offer, in addition to a complete restaurant menu. It includes a table room with the very best of American games with 14 Fair Roulette tables, 6 Black Jack tables, 1 Caribbean Poker table, 3 Ultimate Poker tables, 7 Baccarat tables and a French touch with 2 French Roulette tables and Chemin de Fer events.
The location has been recently expanded with a new area with a dedicated entrance and reserved car park. Furnished with cutting-edge slot machines and traditional game tables, the new area is a multi-purpose and innovative space with a ground floor for gaming, a mezzanine floor with a café, a restaurant and slot-machines and an open-air terrace.
In compliance with the anti-Covid-19 protocol, over 1,000 sqm of Plexiglas partitions have been installed, thus respecting personal distancing in the room and safe access to games.
